A few questions for you all =)

:heart::heart::heart::heart::star:Updates on me!:star::heart::heart::heart::heart:
Yeh well, not a lot has changed. I've started to get antsy about my birthday coming up. I havn't planned anything for my own birthday in years. I generally don't, but it seems I have quiet a few friends who look forward to seeing me or something. I need an idea that won't way heavily on anyones pockets.

:heart::heart::heart::heart::star:QUESTIONS FOR JOO:star::heart::heart::heart::heart:
Well ok so there is a few things I wanna ask. So here goes.

1. When you read a comic/manga/graphic novel (specially one online) what normally makes it intresting to you?
2. Are colored or shaded comics more appealing, or does it really matter at all?
3. When it comes to making sure people can tell who is speaking what way do you think is more effective, different font colors or different fonts? Or can you normally tell anyways?
4. What matters more the art or the story?
5. What type of character do you generally become the biggest fan of?

I think that's all I have at the moment. I'm sure I'll have more questions later!

:heart::heart::heart::heart::star:MYSTICAL DREAMERS:star::heart::heart::heart::heart:
So honestly, what do you think so far? Of the story and characters? (Wow more questions ><;)I've got another page in the works but I'm having a tough time with it since I suck at backgrounds but it's really needed on this page.

I've also considered renaming my story. There is sooo many mystical or dreamer somethings out there that its just blah ><

:heart::heart::heart::heart::star:A random thought.:star::heart::heart::heart::heart:
Now I know everyone likes to do their fain pairs and all but really. Why do people like to pair people that it's been obviously stated wouldn't be together. Like I knowticed quiet a trend of people putting game characters as couples when said couple has already stated it can never be. I just don't get it T_T

:heart::heart::heart::heart::star:Other Web Comics!!:star::heart::heart::heart::heart:
Alley Gods: [link]
Amaranth: [link]
Two Hearts: [link]

Do you know someone with an original web comic? I'd love to add them to my list!

:heart::heart::heart::heart::star:Thank you!:star::heart::heart::heart::heart:
To those of you who have drawn my characters thank you. I really love them and soon as I get a subscription I will be featureing your pictures in my journal!

1. I like a lot of suspense, action, and drama. I'm not a fan of a slow build up - I want the story to start close to the action, or at least add some sense of foreshadowing to it. Otherwise I quickly get bored. The first thing I notice about a comic, however, is the art. If the art is crappy, I won't stick around long enough to read it, no matter how good the actual story may be.

2. For online comics, I prefer colored comics, but I do read black and white ones too. All manga are black and white, so it doesn't matter. If a comic is black and white, I want it to have some shading and screen tones added, so the comic will still have some life to it.

3. Different fonts. Maybe bold or italicize one of them. Usually I can tell by the text bubble placement, though.

4. I think they're equally as important. If your art sucks, I won't read it. But if your story sucks, I still won't read it. If the art is just okay, I can deal, though.

5. The aloof, good-looking and perhaps dangerous bad boy. :D I love guys with attitude. And I love eye candy. :heart:

As for the pairings... I don't know, I guess it's just fun to imagine. The game characters aren't real anyway, so what's the harm in bending them to your will? :XD:

Thank you for taking the time to respond :heart:

And lol yeh I guess I just think some of the pairings are silly :XD:

1. I like it when much thought has been put into the plot and characters. If there is some mystery on nearly every page (just tiny things like, "How will they react," "Who is that speaking", "What will their answer be", etc), it compells me to go to the next page and keep reading.
I do admit I have a particluar personal preference to comics about animals.
2. It doesn't matter. I like shaded (toned) comics, and I like coloured ones too. My favourite panel layout is manga style, but as long as it works it's fine.
3. I prefer that they have the same colour and style of font. If the person is not in the frame, ways that can be made obvious who is talking include:
* Have the speech bubble point out of frame in the direction that the character is.
* In the manga Fruits Basket, they sometimes included a little chibi character face/symbol in the speech bubble (obviously won't work in serious moments though)
* If the character is remembering what someone said and that's where the text is from, could have their face faded in the background or something
* It is good to have characters have their own way of speaking. Some have drawls, may ahh and um a lot, have catch phrases/words, etc. Then you will know who is speaking just by the way they word things.
* Hopefully it can be figured out by the context of what is happening anyway.
4. Both. =P Although if it's just a humour strip sort of comic, it still works with no plot and bad art.
5. The hot one. XD Or if I'm not being so shallow, I like the interesting one who is in depth and has interesting relationships (not neccasary romantic, just how they are connected with each other, even negative) with the other characters.

Thanks for taking the time to reply =D

1) i normally don't read online cuzz it makes me feel like i'm staying for ages, which is bad for the eyes of course ^^; and in real life..well...they don't sell manga or stuff like that so i never did read :|
just some quickies...out of curiosity..almost random

2)nope it doesn't really matter as long as it's good...although a bit of shading would make it look more interesting

3)normally i can tell...if not..like ChocoboDragon said

4)mmm...i think both...although if the plot is good it wouldn't mind to me..though good drawings may attract you in reading it and it helps the imagination on the way

5)the one with attitude and sometimes good lucking..but it depends..and most of the time it's not the main character lol
....the wan who would drive you crazy...stubborn...that does stuff differently XD

well...i think it needs more black and grays :D
and about the backgrounds..i suck at them to..but i'm normally positive and i know if i keep it up the stuff i suck at right now will my specialty later...so if i suck at all..well :dance: you got the idea haha

haha well it's more interesting if you do a couple people weren't expecting..or people that get together after ages and ages..its just more fun like...for ex. fushigi yuugi or (sometimes) mermaid melody is a drag compared to kaito janne (as some people call it "jeanne die kamikatze diebin" or "Jeanne d'Arc") :giggle:

i think that's a rap for now:hug:
lucky you you caught me in a writing mood...on a rainy day heeh

Good artists are the crappy artists who never gave up :painter:

For your birthday: BONFIRE AT THE BEACH! At night. With marshmellows.

Or at least a barbeque at the beach...

Comic questions:
1) Characterisation; usually I prefer reading about characters that are interesting (maybe a little weird but in a good way). The plot has to be good as well, not something I've read about over and over again. Basically, like any story I like, the online comic story has to be well thought out and unique. Even if there are some cliched points, I would still read them if they're presented in new and unusual ways that make me go 'Hey! Why didn't I think of that?!'
2) If the plot's good, it doesn't really matter all that much. But having it at least drawn well does get brownie points.
3) Er...speech bubbles? I don't usually have a problem but then it's probably because this is usually presented quite well that I don't notice. Heh...sorry I can't be more helpful here...
4) The story. But like I said before, extra points if the comic/graphic novel's drawn well.
5) The loner who has an angsty past =P Or the comic relief guy. Those characters usually seem the most interesting.

I haven't read your comic yet but I suppose some people still go for the impossible pairings because they just want to and it's more wish fulfillment than anything -shrugs- Who knows why people do what they do?

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Unfortunatly I live no where near the beach but I must remember that one.

I guess we will never figure out the workings of human minds.
:iconcersiana:
Thanks for replying =) Yeh right now my comics main goal is to make me work on things I totally suck at hehe. Like backgrounds >.<

Unfortunatly I don't know either of those anime/manga. I'll have to look up something about em. =)
:iconthezelphyrianshadow:
1. When you read a comic/manga/graphic novel (specially one online) what normally makes it intresting to you?
Has to have a good story. Good art may attract me to it, but if there's no plot I'll drift. And there has to be good, nicely developed characters. And there has to be one hot enough to fangirl 8D. It also really, really helps if there's either a new twist to a supernatural thing, or some kind of upper-thinking skills involved.
2. Are colored or shaded comics more appealing, or does it really matter at all?
Whatever makes it pretty. Sometimes coloring takes away from it. Good nice neat lines are a must though.
3. When it comes to making sure people can tell who is speaking what way do you think is more effective, different font colors or different fonts? Or can you normally tell anyways?
Usually if it's nice and neat you can tell that way. Plus if the characters are developed enough their speech patterns will give it away =3
4. What matters more the art or the story?
Both. Without the other they're equally useless.
5. What type of character do you generally become the biggest fan of?
I usually fall for the biggest wise-@$$. God do I love sarcasm.
